Adobe is constantly improving, improvements and changes in Photoshop and I am not a guru, but I am able to do much good with Photoshop myself. My wife is what I would call a Photoshop guru or expert and the things she can not get Photoshop to continue to blow me. My wife uses the latest version of Photoshop to work for Digital Designer, but I am still using Photoshop 7, so please bare with me if my advice is old or obsolete.
I tried to compile 10 tips to help you use Photoshop so that you never thought before, or simply use more quickly to do things you do now.
1 – Edge Burn-in Technique
Try using the Rectangle tool selection (M) and select the area slightly smaller than the outer edge of the (50-100 image pixels, your preference). Now invert the selection (Select-Inverse) and make a later adjustment curves to darken the edge and click OK. Then apply a heavy Gaussian Blur (Filter-Blur-Gaussian Blur) to the mask layer with a radius of about 100 pixels depending on your preference. You can customize this using the tools of the brush or the layer Opacity slider.
2 – Make a half-tone image Pop
To avoid strong shadows or highlights while bringing out the midtones try this method. Make a duplicate the bottom layer and choose Filter-Sharpen-Unsharp Mask, and then set the amount, radius and threshold and 50/20/20, respectively. Now from the palette Layers, select the menu of blending options and move a layer of that section of the slider to 70 and highlighted at 185. Now, press Alt (Option) and separate the triangular cursor to drag the shadow point to 0 and the highest point to 255 and click OK.
3 – Make Fancy borders for images with filters
Open a copy of your image so you keep your original intact and double-click the background layer in the Layers palette. Now click OK to make this layer a layer 0 or layer normal. Use the rectangular selection (M tool) and create a selection slightly smaller than the outer edge of the image as in the edge of burnout in the above technique. Enter the Quick Mask Mode (Q) and click Filter Filter Gallery and apply filters that you prefer and click OK. Exit Quick Mask mode (Q again), then click the "Add Layer Mask in the Layers palette to hide the image in the form that you created.
4 – Layer Quick Tip
When you add a new layer it appears at the top of the Layers palette. To make your new layer below the active layer and not the background layer press Ctrl (Command) when you click the icon Create a new layer!
5 – Match Making Cropped Images
With both images open already, start by clicking on the image, which is good size. Now Select the Crop tool (C) and click on the Front Image button in the toolbar options and the width and height properties resolution in the Options bar will be completed for the front image. Now, drag the border of cultures in the second image and press Enter (Return) and your second picture is now exactly the same size as the first.
6 – Take Control of Sliders
When Move your cursor over a digital option in most dialog boxes option or scroll bar appears. If you want more control the cursor, press Alt (Option) and drag the cursor values that move 10 times slower and keeping the Shift key moves 10 times faster!
7 – Is Your histogram accurate?
Be certain that your histogram is not a cached version of your previous editions. If you see a small triangle on the histogram click it and it will be updated to the current version.
8 – Reapply the last filter
If you want use the same filter again with the same parameters hold the Alt key (Option) while you select the filter and it opens with the final parameters used. You can also use the shortcut Shift + Alt + F (Shift-Option-F) to reapply the filter.
9 – Easy Crop Tool
When Cropping (C) Click and drag outside the bounding box and it will allow the crop area from turning as you want to change the angle of your image or if it between Nice and straight. Double-click in the box to crop. We use all the time in our camera repair in time to take pictures of parts to be placed on the site, works very well!
10 – Make Crisp-Edged Shapes
When using rectangular shape tool, click the down arrow to the right of the form in the options bar and turn on Align on the checkbox clicks!
I hope you are able to find one or two articles that will help you in your use Photoshop and I'll have more advice soon!
